Simple Spring Makeup

heya friends!

I’m back with another simple, fast makeup look that I do when I want a little color in my life and now that it is Spring I thought it would only be appropriate. Like I’ve said many times before, I am a neutral gal. I like my browns. Haha. But this is my go-to look when I want to have that a little pop of color. It’s nothing dramatic but something to try if you’re new to makeup or just a noob like me. 🙂 Enjoy.

My Go-To Eyeshadows

heya friends!

Today, I have a compilation of eyeshadows that I use every time I decide to wear eye makeup. I use a combination of any of them and as you will soon see, they are all neutral shades besides one haha. I’m still not brave enough to use crazy different colors on my lids but maybe someday  I will be. Hope you enjoy xx.

NYX

IMG_2571_Fotor.jpgHappy Hour | A soft, matte light medium brown shade that is perfect to create some depth on your lids. Easy to blend, great pigmentation, and cheap! IMG_2569_Fotor.jpgFireball | The one and only colorful shade that I use haha. This is a pinkish prismatic shade that is soooo pigmented and beautiful on the lids. Didn’t think I would love it this much. IMG_2574_Fotor.jpgLove in Rio | The star of this little trio is the black to the right. I’ve mentioned this shade before but it’s the perfect matte, smooth black shade. Applies/blends like a dream! IMG_2573_Fotor.jpgDark Brown | A convenient “lazy girl” makeup eyeshadow pencil. Just apply to lids and smooth out evenly; looks great on its own and for monolids. IMG_2575_Fotor.jpg

Colourpop

IMG_2577_Fotor_Fotor_Collage.jpgDesert | The best transition color for my skin tone ever! It’s super affordable and creamy. It’s best applied with a clean finger.

Loreal

IMG_2583_Fotor_Fotor_Collage.jpgDeep Mocha | Can you tell I love my browns? Haha. This is exactly what it says it is: a deep mocha shade. I’ve used this shade since high school; it was the first eyeshadow I ever used! It’s a good one to go to as a makeup beginner.

Urban Decay

IMG_2554_Fotor_Fotor_Collage.jpg

Original Palette | Virgin: great for brightening the inner eye and brow bone! Buck: another awesome, solid transition shade. Half-baked: PERFECTION. Dark horse: creates depth to the eye and gives a nice smoky effect.

IMG_2561_Fotor.jpgIMG_2562_Fotor_Fotor_Collage.jpg

Smoky Palette | Dirtysweet: lovely for the inner eyes. This is one of my favorite shades ever. Black Market: another trustworthy matte black shade. Great for a soft liner look. Whiskey: a dark, smooth brown that looks nice on its own. Thirteen: a matte white; ideal for the brow bone!

I told you I love me some neutrals haha. These are all of the eyeshadows that I wear every time I decide to wear some makeup on my lids. You could probably tell that most, if not all, are quite clean and look unused. That’s because I don’t wear any eye makeup during the week as I work at a lab independently. I usually only wear a full face during weekends. But hey, more product for me! Hope you enjoyed this little roundup. Please comment below if we share a similar love for neutral eye looks! ❤

First Impression: Urban Decay Weightless Concealer

heyaaaaaa friends!

On my recent mini Sephora/Target haul post, I wrote that I purchased the Urban Decay Weightless Concealer. I knowwww I am late to the game (I always am). I tend to use products until I literally have no more and I was using the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer before this one. I just bought the Urban Decay concealer not so long ago but I have tried it  three times already and I wanted to do a first impression post for any of ya’ll who are thinking of getting this concealer as well. Hopefully this will be helpful!IMG_2470_Fotor.jpgIMG_2472_Fotor.jpg

What it Claims to be: High Coverage | Buildable | Weightless | Luminous | Demi-Matte | Invisible

Coverage | It is a medium coverage concealer for me. Like it claims, this concealer is buildable. As you can see, it does a pretty good job at concealing my acne scars on my cheeks with only one layer. I could add a second layer for higher coverage but I didn’t think I needed it. Sometimes, less is more 🙂 IMG_2488_Fotor_Collage_Fotor.jpg

Application | Extremely easy to blend! It just melts into your skin and that is a big pro for me because that means it takes less time to get ready haha.

Weightless | Yes, it is very light on the skin. For every day I used it, I wore it for at least 8 hours and it never felt like I was wearing a concealer. It really does just feel like a second skin.IMG_2478_Fotor_Collage_Fotor.jpg

Luminosity | Umm, this one is kind of a yes. I mean I don’t think I look luminous when I have this concealer on. It does brighten up the under eye area obviously but for me, in particular, I don’t find it illuminating.

Demi-Matte | This one is a yes! And thank the Lord because I now seem to have oily/dry combo skin so it’s really great to use on my oily t-zone but it also doesn’t dry up around my nose and chin area. I did seem to get a littttleee dry underneath the creases of my under eye but I didn’t wear any primer because I wanted to see how well this worked without it.

Price | This concealer is $28; reasonable for an Urban Decay product. I think it’s a good price for the quality as well.

Compared to NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer | So far, I think I like this one better. Another great thing is the applicator: it’s this flexible, flat soft sponge so it picks up a lot of product from the tube but it gives you a lot control when applying. I like this one better because it’s not drying, it’s completely weightless, and melts into my skin. The NARS one is excellent but it sunk into the lines underneath my eyes almost every day (even with a good primer/moisturizer). I think it’s just my skin but  I definitely prefer the Urban Decay one as of now.IMG_2475_Fotor.jpg

Summary | So far, loving the product! The best thing about it is that it really is weightless and conceals nicely. If you are looking for a new high-end concealer, try this one!

I hope you found this post helpful! If anyone has been using this products, I would love to know what you think about it. See you next time, friends. Byeeeeeeeeee!

Date Makeup | 3 Year Anniversary

Heya friends!

Today, on this lovely Sunday morning, I have a little date makeup look that I wore for a very special dinner that my boyfriend and I went to. It was our third year anniversary so we decided to be classy and eat at a nice restaurant in Newport Beach. I usually don’t wear make up at all; at most, it’s bb cream, powder, and eyebrows. I don’t like putting stuff on my eyelids during the week as well so this look is a full face of make up for me. I am a noob but I still love make up so much! I really don’t know why, it’s a weird addiction. Make up brands just have amazing advertising skills that make you want every single thing haha. IMG_2367_Fotor.jpgIMG_2357_Fotor.jpg

What I’m wearing:

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Sand

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Sandstorm

Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Auburn

Urban Decay Primer Potion

Eyeshadows from the original Naked palette

Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner in Trooper

NYX Matte Bronzer in Dark Tan

NYX Lip Liner in Red Brick

Colourpop Lippie Stix in Dalia

Korean Brand Fake Eyelashes: Darkness in Natural

Maybelline Falsies Mascara

I’m not used to wearing this much makeup so after a few hours, I was itching to get it off my face haha.

Anyways! Sean and I dined at Fig & Olive in Newport Beach. We’ve been here with his family months ago and absolutely loved it! A very romantic, beautiful, classy ambiance and the food is worth the splurge. They are known for their crostini collection paired with wine and their oil selection. Feast your eyes upon these horribly lit photos haha. It was dark so I did the best I could to lighten up each photo.

IMG_2377_Fotor.jpgCrostini| Prosciutto, Ricotta, Fig, Olive, Walnut | Pata Negra, Smoked Tomato Concasse | Goat Cheese, Caramelized Onion, Chive ($13 for 3) IMG_2385_Fotor.jpgRiviera Shrimp and Salmon Salad | $23IMG_2386_Fotor.jpgProvence Roasted Chicken | $29IMG_2383_Fotor.jpgEverything was booooommbbb. Great customer service, perfect environment, and lovely food for the price. If you live in/visiting the SoCal area and you want be a little fancy for dinner, this place is worth a try. Make sure to make reservations for weekend dining because they get busy!

All in all, twas a relaxing evening. We used to do extravagant things for our anniversaries but I think we try to enjoy our company more than anything now. Talking, laughing, and joking around is what we do best!

I really hope you guys liked todays post! I will be posting a little something in a few days that shows more into my personal life 🙂
