I will be doing another in-depth review about a product that I have loved, adored, and worshiped for years now. The Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation was my first high end foundation that I have ever purchased. I did an extensive amount of research before buying this product because I wanted to make sure this thing was perfect, especially since it has a hefty price tag with it. This is for anyone who is considering purchasing a high end foundation and want something amaazzzinggg!
Price and ContainerThe foundation is $38 for a 1 fl. oz. frosted glass container. I wish it came with a pump but it’s simply a twist off cap. It can get messy when trying to pour it onto the back of your hand or brush but I’ve heard that you can find a pump that is the correct size and slip it on. This foundation comes in 38 shades so there is a shade for everyone haha. I am in 1W2 Sand.
What it Claims to Do
- 15-hour wear
- Natural finish
- Lightweight, oil-free, and buildable formula
- Heat, humidity resistance
What it Actually Does
- I’ve only worn it for 12-13 hours tops and it stays put perfectly.
- No cake finish; very natural looking on the skin.
- It is lightweight for a high coverage foundation and super buildable.
- I wore this when I was hiking for hours in Portland and it looked exactly the same after.
ApplicationIt blends like a dream. I like using it best with my Real Techniques buffing brush or even with clean fingers. The consistency is quite watery. It is a high coverage foundation; usually one application smooths and conceals my whole face. I don’t think I ever go back with concealer to make sure spots are covered since the foundation does all the work. The again, I don’t suffer from crazy hyper pigmentation or rosacea, etc…But look at how even my skin looks above! Before, I have some acne scars and discoloration. After applying I have flawless, even, smooth skin!! Yas.
WearThis foundation is a long wear foundation. It can last all day in rain or shine. I used to work at a very busy medical clinic where I was moving around constantly, sweating, and stressing out. I would get ready at 6:30am and wear it until close to 6 to 7pm so that’s almost 12 to 13 hours wear. Hot damn! It would still be on my face and be able to maintain a pretty matte complexion. I’m sure it can go up to the claimed 15 hours but I’ve never had to wear makeup that long.
Overall, this has been and still is one of my favorite foundations. It is so compatible with my oily/combo skin. The Double Wear has been highly praised in the makeup world by many huge beauty gurus so it really is worth the money. A little goes a long way. The tub I have now has lasted me for soooo long and I’m finally starting to run out…time to get another one 🙂 Hope this was helpful ❤

Over the past weekend, I made a quick little visit to Sephora because I haven’t been in a long time. I don’t purchase makeup very often because I usually stick to the makeup I already have. I’m picky and I do a lot of research before buying. I already knew what I wanted when I went in and I’m pretty proud of myself for leaving with no more than what I wanted! I also stopped by Target after and picked up two lippies just for the heck of it. I haven’t used any of these products and I know I am late to the game for basically all of them but like I said, I’m pretty picky and I wait until I know I really need/want it. Hope ya’ll enjoy!
Benefit Gimme Brow | I got the shade Medium/Deep and I am expecting a lot from this little guy. As mentioned in my previous posts, I work alone so I usually wear little to no makeup on weekdays. I’m hoping the Gimme Brow will allow me to just groom/shape my eyebrows and make them look a little fuller. Instead of using my usual Anastasia Dip Brow Pomade for a full brow look, I’m hoping this will save me a lot of time on work days.
Anastasia Brow Wiz | Speaking of brows, I finally got the brow wiz haha. I have the pomade, the pencil, and I finally got my hands on this one! I got the one in Medium Brown. I feel like this will be great for days when I actually want that full-brow look but I don’t have that much time to get ready. I might even use it on days when I work. Been hearing only positives for this one so it betta be good!
Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Concealer | This is the last thing I purchased from Sephora and I am also verrrrryy excited to use this! I’ve always used the NARS Creamy Concealer and the Maybelline Age Rewinder, but they are both starting to bore me haha. I’ve also realized that the NARS one really settled into my under eye lines and I have to be very wary of what primer/moisturizer I’m using. I got the shade Medium Natural and I’m hoping this is what it claims to be: a weightless concealer. I’ve heard both pros and cons from this product but I really want to try it and see how I feel. I also the love the clean packaging! Woot!
NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick | I purchased this from Target because I always have loved NYX lip products. This product is blowing my newsfeed haha; everyone’s reviewing them. I got the shade Tea & Cookies which looks like a really nice pinky, a little mauve-y color. I’m hoping it will glide on nicely and have a soft, but matte finish.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick | The shade that looked super beautiful was Rum Raisin. The sticker in the bottom looks like a warm brown with a hint of dark purple. I’m so bad at explaining colors, bear with me. Luckily, I have photos ha! I’m looking forward to trying this one out. I really like lipsticks that are moisturizing to the lips and the word “lustrous” reeled me in. 🙂
Hope you enjoyed this lil post! I’m sure most of you have already tried these products so tell me how you like them below! I am going to be visiting my family this weekend in the South Bay and I have some nifty post ideas… tehe.
