March 2016 Favorites

heya friends!

Hello again to another favorites post. This month, I barely have any makeup items because I’ve just been comfortable with what I’ve been using so nothing really new in that department. Instead, I do have some other bit and pieces that I have been obsessed with. Maybe you and I share some favorites?

  1. Game of Thrones

Holy moly, this show is dangerous! It lures you in and you find yourself in the Game of Thrones abyss. I started only two weeks ago and I am on Season 4. I will definitely finish in time for the premiere of Season 6 in mid-April. Beware, this show is not for little ones! A LOT of nudity, sex, language, and violence. But the story line is so amazing and the acting is just perfection!! If there any GOT fans out there, please comment!

2. Too Faced Lip Liner in Perfect Spice

I’ve been wearing this color almost every time I have make up on. I wear it on its own and it’s this perfect nude, light mauve-y shade. It makes your lips look luscious and it’s overall just a beautiful color. It is a tad drying on the lips but I make sure to apply some balm for that.

3. Keurig

I swear I have some sort of coffee-related favorite for each month lol. Just got this new baby and I use it every single morning. It’s very easy to use and fast coffee=happy Paige. I was gifted with a plethora of Keurig cups but I don’t drink flavored coffee so I leave that to my roomies.

4. Trader Joe’s Herb and Spices Popcorn

The most savory, yummy, and satisfying snack ever. It’s not that healthy but it is a healthy alternative to chips and candy. It’s only $1.99 too!

5. Simple Daily SPF Moisturizer

I’ve been using this moisturizer for quite a bit and this is my like third bottle. I’ve been loving it especially  this month because I dwindled away from it to try another daily moisturizer and I broke out. So this month I was reunited with it and it proves, yet again, to be a simple, gentle moisturizer that also protects skin from the sun.

6. Charcoal Pore Strips

Sean and I got these from Daiso and were pretty skeptical since they were so cheap at $1.50 for a 4-pack. Turns out, they are pretty darn amazing. We rarely do nose pore strips but we decided to try them out and we loved it! Definitely takes all the gunk out of your nose. I wouldn’t recommend doing this too often but once in a while can be beneficial. I don’t have a picture because we already used them all but all charcoal pore strips are basically the same.

7. Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Bar with Toffee, Walnuts, and Pecans

Another TJ item! Can you tell I’m obsessed. I never buy chocolate bars but I saw this little guy while I was checking out one day and I haven’t stopped purchasing it!! Help me for I have sinned…I don’t eat it in one sitting but I have one brick every day or every other day because I love it so much. It’s sweet, nutty, and delicious. Also only $1.99!

8. NYX Matte Bronzer in Deep Tan

So when I first purchased this a few months ago, it was wasn’t showing up on my face very well. I thought it was because the pigmentation was horrible, but it turns out I was just super tanned haha. I think I’ve gotten paler since all I do is sit in an office all day, which means this has become my favorite bronzer of the month! I was totally wrong, this is an excellent bronzer for my now paler complexion. I’m already pretty tanned so I must have been super brown before. Applies very well and blends out like a dream!

Hope you enjoyed this roundup of March favs! I apologize if some of the photos had horrible lighting. I don’t have access to daylight much but I tried to edit them to the best of my abilities ❤

Costa Mesa Brunchin’ | Weekends with Me

heya friends!

This past weekend was supa chill. I was literally a potato the whole weekend; I didn’t even work out at all so I’m dedicated to going to the gym every day this week! Instead of just rotting on the couch, I did manage to peel my eyes off Netflix to spend the day in Costa Mesa on Sunday for some good ole brunch and a walk around.IMG_2609_Fotor.jpgIf you live around the OC/LA area, you need to visit the Camp/the Lab area in Costa Mesa. Really cute, hipster vibes and awesome places to eat/snack/drink coffee. I go here at least twice a month.

We had brunch at Rooster Cafe. They are known for their massive breakfast burritos but I went for a veggie omelette and some roasted potatoes. This place is packed during the weekend! It’s a small joint so it’s best to be early or visit during a weekday. Definitely a place to try though!IMG_2590_Fotor.jpgWe visited the Camp and finally tried out something from the Black Market bakery/cafe. I had the Vanilla Almond Lavendar scone which was amazing. The cafe has an assortment of baked goods and also cute trinkets and chocolates. So cute!IMG_2598_Fotor.jpgThere is a store called People’s Market where they sell clothing, jewelry, natural bath/body things, home decor, etc…It really is a general market that sells a lot of adorable stuff. Haha. I’m horrible at describing things so maybe the pictures will help a little.IMG_2600_Fotor.jpgThis market also has a second level where they display home decor and all I can say is…home goals. Home. Goals. Yes. I want everything. This is my future.IMG_2605_Fotor.jpgIMG_2607_Fotor.jpg

Whelp, that is all for now! Hope you enjoyed this lil roundup and if you’ve ever been to the Camp, do comment below xx

Bottega Louie & Ktown | Weekends with Me

heya friends!

This past weekend, I was in Los Angeles quite a bit and I have a little round up of pics. Thought I would post it since I discovered new places to eat/visit! Enjoy.

Sean and I went to a concert at the Wiltern on Friday. We ate at Beer Belly: a little restaurant located in Koreatown where they serve craft beer and fried chicken. The great thing about Koreatown is all of the adorable coffee cafe’s sprinkled everywhere. We went to a few but my favorite was The Loft.

We also ventured to the Grand Central Market where we got massive burritos and the Almond and Macademia Latte from G&B Coffee. It’s one of the best latte’s I’ve ever had and awesome from those who are lactose intolerant!

After, we walked to Bottega Louie and snacked on delicious macarons and some more coffee. It was my first time there and I have to say, it is a very lovely place to visit. It is super crowded during the weekend so I suggest coming here on a weekday if possible. The macarons are sooooo mouthwatering/aesthetically pleasing and their coffee is just as yummy. I’ve also heard great reviews on their food; must try again sometime soon!

Hope you enjoyed this little roundup!

Momma Bakes Banana Bread

heyyaa friends!

I am currently in the South Bay visiting my family for the weekend. My mom decided to bake banana bread (my favorite!) and I wanted to share the recipe! It’s nothing fancy, but it’s definitely the best banana bread I’ve ever had: probably because it was baked my mom haha. I love visiting home because waking up to breakfast is the best feeling everrrrrr. I included some pics of the blueberry pancakes that she made me as well…Kudos to my mama! IMG_2426_Fotor.jpgIMG_2424_Fotor.jpgIMG_2428_Fotor_Fotor.jpg

We usually include nuts and fruits in our banana breads but we were craving just good old, simple banana bread. IMG_2429_Fotor.jpgIMG_2441_Fotor.jpgIMG_2439_Fotor.jpgIMG_2448_Fotor.jpgIMG_2452_Fotor.jpgI  didn’t want to really go into detail and type out the recipe because banana bread is one of the easiest, self-explanatory baked good to make. You basically mix the wet ingredients and mix the dry ingredients separately and then add the dry to the wet. People like to add their own little spin to it but I like the simplicity of the bananas ❤ Also, pictures are sometimes worth a thousand words!

I hope you enjoyed this yummy post. Please like/comment below if you love banana bread as much as I do…also if you love home-made food in general haha. My next post shall be my February favorites….yass!

Date Makeup | 3 Year Anniversary

Heya friends!

Today, on this lovely Sunday morning, I have a little date makeup look that I wore for a very special dinner that my boyfriend and I went to. It was our third year anniversary so we decided to be classy and eat at a nice restaurant in Newport Beach. I usually don’t wear make up at all; at most, it’s bb cream, powder, and eyebrows. I don’t like putting stuff on my eyelids during the week as well so this look is a full face of make up for me. I am a noob but I still love make up so much! I really don’t know why, it’s a weird addiction. Make up brands just have amazing advertising skills that make you want every single thing haha. IMG_2367_Fotor.jpgIMG_2357_Fotor.jpg

What I’m wearing:

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Sand

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Ginger

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Sandstorm

Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Auburn

Urban Decay Primer Potion

Eyeshadows from the original Naked palette

Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner in Trooper

NYX Matte Bronzer in Dark Tan

NYX Lip Liner in Red Brick

Colourpop Lippie Stix in Dalia

Korean Brand Fake Eyelashes: Darkness in Natural

Maybelline Falsies Mascara

I’m not used to wearing this much makeup so after a few hours, I was itching to get it off my face haha.

Anyways! Sean and I dined at Fig & Olive in Newport Beach. We’ve been here with his family months ago and absolutely loved it! A very romantic, beautiful, classy ambiance and the food is worth the splurge. They are known for their crostini collection paired with wine and their oil selection. Feast your eyes upon these horribly lit photos haha. It was dark so I did the best I could to lighten up each photo.

IMG_2377_Fotor.jpgCrostini| Prosciutto, Ricotta, Fig, Olive, Walnut | Pata Negra, Smoked Tomato Concasse | Goat Cheese, Caramelized Onion, Chive ($13 for 3) IMG_2385_Fotor.jpgRiviera Shrimp and Salmon Salad | $23IMG_2386_Fotor.jpgProvence Roasted Chicken | $29IMG_2383_Fotor.jpgEverything was booooommbbb. Great customer service, perfect environment, and lovely food for the price. If you live in/visiting the SoCal area and you want be a little fancy for dinner, this place is worth a try. Make sure to make reservations for weekend dining because they get busy!

All in all, twas a relaxing evening. We used to do extravagant things for our anniversaries but I think we try to enjoy our company more than anything now. Talking, laughing, and joking around is what we do best!

I really hope you guys liked todays post! I will be posting a little something in a few days that shows more into my personal life 🙂

Valentine’s Day 2016

Today is Valentine’s day. A day of love, friendship, family, and of course, food. Sean and I decided not to do anything fancy shmancy or gift exchange this year because why not? Scrolling through Instagrams and looking at Snapchats of bouquets of roses, cholesterol-filled chocolate tins, and over-priced teddy bears is really cute and all but I would rather save that money for an awesome vacation get-away. No offense to any people who are receiving any of these for vday; been there, done that.

Insteaaadddd, we decided to have a chill day. We woke up and worked out. Got a healthy smoothie and decided to eat lunch at A&J Restaurant in Irvine. If anyone lives in this area and hasn’t been to this Tawainese restaurant, you’re missing out. What they are known for: spicy wontons, fried chicken, and beef noodle soup. Pics below will induce salivation.

After, we got a pecan cinnamon roll from a neighboring bakery and decided to have it with some delicious tea! We went back home, I took a nap, woke up, and now I am writing this. Ha. Sean decided to cook me some curry for dinner so I’m greedily waiting for that…

I guess the main message of this little post is that Vday doesn’t have to be extravagant. It can be if you want of course but we are definitely more chill when it comes to celebrating our love. It can be celebrated with friends, family, co-workers, acquaintances, etc…! Or you can just have a nice, relaxing day in. Watch Netflix, (Might I suggest: Better Call Saul, The 100, Broadchurch), eat whatever you want, get a massage, bake/cook something, start a blog (tehe)! The choices are endless. Okay, enough talking…pictures commence below!

Coffee and Jjajangmyeon

So my boyfriend and I went to two, no THREE, bomb places to get coffee/eat today and I couldn’t wait to share our new places to eat to all the Orange County/LA people in SoCal! I’ve been wanting to get good coffee from a little cafe called “The Coffee Tale” in Huntington Beach so we decided to go after seeing almost 300, five star reviews on Yelp. Everyone is raving about this place so I had to go!

The Coffee Tale is located in a quaint nook near a Costco called The Old World Village. You feel like you’re stepping into a different country haha; it’s small but pleasant to walk around on a sunny weekend afternoon.

I got the house coffee and Sean got a pour over. We got them to-go so we can walk around a little but next time, I might actually go for their mocha (and face the after-effects of lactose intolerance) because everyone was getting them. They also make pretty little designs that are so instagram worthy.

I was tempted to go for their baklava but I was like, “Be good, Paige. Save your appetite.” because we were going to hit up a hole-in-the-wall Chinese/Korean restaurant called “Beijing Wok and Grill” that served amazing jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and legendary steamed dumplings. Luckily, it was a short 8 minute drive to Fountain Valley where it is located.

The food was so AMAZING. You can see how the dumplings are not in the picture above because those were devoured by two very ravenous people in a span of like a minute. Not joking lol. This place is owned by a cute little couple who are very sincere and nice. The food was fresh, delicious, and it made me wanting more. I really wish we got one of their chicken or pork dishes but we were saving some room for dessert….

Only three doors down to Beijing Wok and Grill was a nut, dairy, and gluten free bakery. How convenient. Sean and I peeked in and came out with some goodies. The bakery is adorably named “Sensitive Sweets” and is supposedly owned by a mother with a child who has very intense food allergies. Kudos to her. Cookies, brownies, bread, cake pops, donuts, etc…and all dairy free!

Reasonably priced vegan baked good are always a win. Plus, it tasted so delicious, especially the mini-chocolate chip cookies. This is a heaven for people who really want a good brownie without feeling bloated/gassy after.

Overall, I feel like we found three great spots that we will be visiting again. I only eat out during the weekends so I really try to visit places I’ve never been before. Today was successful indeed! If there are any people who are from the SoCal area or are planning on visiting, try out these three places! I have a yelp account which I will link and you can see other peoples thoughts on these lovely places:

See ya’ll tomorrow for a lil Valentines day post ❤
