Simple, Glowy Summer Makeup Look

yep, yep I finally found the courage to do a lil’ makeup look! I basically have been using the same regime every time I decide to put on some makeup. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it’s summer-friendly. Literally takes me 10-15 minutes to do this and gives me a put together but natural glowy look. I am by no means a makeup artist but I do love putting makeup m’face and experimenting with different products.

1. IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Butter CC Cream with SPF 50+ in Medium (Read my review on this product here!) / buff this with a dense, flat-top brush.

2. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer in Light-Medium Honey (my review on this is here as well!) / focus this on under eyes, forehead, and chin- buff with same flat-top brush.

3. Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Sand / use a smaller, fluffy brush to pack this only on oily areas (my t-zone).

4. NYX Matte Bronzer / use a huge, fluffy brush and bronze up the whole face.

5. Modern Renaissance palette, shade Primavera / highlight cheek bones, forehead, and chin. **my camera was not picking up my highlight for some reason, which is why I look so matte in my picture. Need to work on that…**

6. Colourpop Blotted Lips, shade On a Stick

1. Colourpop Cosmetics Brow Pencil in Bangin’ Brunette / fill in brows. Haha.

2. Colourpop Cosmetics individual Pressed Powder in Notch / buff with a fluffy, dense shadow brush (Morphe E27) all over the lid as a base.

3. Colourpop Cosmetics Pressed Powder in Come and Get it / concentrate on the center of the lid with a smaller, packing brush (Morphe M433).

4. Modern Renaissance palette, shade Vermeer / use to highlight brow bone.

5. Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara (current favorite)

I don’t usually do makeup look posts as I am not a professional makeup artist but like I said, I do love it. Haha. Hope you enjoyed this short and sweet post! x

current fav lippies

I have a few current favorite lipsticks that I have been obsessed with-some for months and some that were more recent finds. I wanted to share these amazing products with my lovely readers. Maybe we share some favorites? Or maybe you’ll find something new!

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick / Lolita

I’ve had this baby for a good few months and it might be my all time favorite formula/shade STILL. The formula is really what stands out-pigmented, glides smoothly on the lips, comfortable, not drying, and lasts for hours. It’s hard to find a matte lipstick that doesn’t dry the lips and this one is so easy on the lips. The shade is described as a “chestnut rose” on the Kat Von D website-it’s a gorgeous color. This lipstick retails for $20 and is 0.22 fl. Oz. A pricey lipstick but worth every dolla!

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick / Rum Raisin

An oldie but a goodie! Love this comfortable, creamy lipstick so much-it might be the longest favorite lippie that I own. The shade is a gorgeous reddish-brown. It’s a unique color and lovely on the lips. The soft formula glides on like butter on the lips and is moisturizing as well.  This is not as long lasting so it does need reapplication a few times throughout day-it has never bothered me though. I bought mine from Walmart for around $8 and it is .15 fl. Oz.

Colourpop’s Blotted Lips / On a Stick

Oooh this a new one and I did a more detailed review on the ColourPop’s Blotted Lips line. I have been going for this bright coral lippie almost every time I put on makeup. It complements a natural, glowy look so well. I usually don’t do bright shades on my lips but the great thing about this blotted lip range is how much control you have over pigmentation. You can make it as bright as you want or as subtle like a tint. It’s very weightless on the lips and lasts all day for me! This is 5 bucks a pop and is 0.035 oz.

Colourpop’s Lippie Stix / Lumiere Matte

Another Colourpop fav-I got this when it first came out and I believe this is my 3rd one…This is a mauve pink shade that looks good for any occasion. It’s so simple to apply and leaves a non-drying matte finish.  All of Colourpop’s Lippie Stix have amazing formulas and shades but this is one of the few that I have repurchased multiple times. I get this for $5 and has 0.035 oz. of product.

Too Faced Perfect Lips Lip Liner / Perfect Spice

My favorite lip liner shade of all time! It’s a neutral nude that looks great all over the lips and on its own. I actually use this on its own most of the time. It is a bit drying but some chapstick underneath or a gloss over will solve that! It also plumps up my lips a little and gives the illusion of fuller lips. These lip liners glide effortlessly and are rich in color-they have a berry shade that I really want as well. I bought mine at Sephora for around $15 and comes with 0.10 fl. Oz.

As you can tell, I love me some nudes and berry-toned lippies. What are your current favorite lipsticks?

Blotted Lips | Colourpop Cosmetics First Impressions

oooh I bought some of Colourpop’s new Blotted Lips and I was so excited when I got them in the mail the other day! Don’t get me wrong, I love their lippies and ultra satin’s but these new Blotted Lip products looked extremely wearable, comfortable, and long-lasting. I also appreciated how these reminded me of Korean lip products where they focus more on a “just-bitten”, gradient-like effect on the lips.

So cute! They are smaller than the usual Lippie Stix and the liquid lips, but I actually like how cute and compact it is. The only con is that they are a tad difficult to completely close-the cap never seems to click as easily as their lippie stix. It is not something that bothers me but thought it was worth mentioning.

As you can see, these are not your typical lippies. They are a lot less creamy to give you that stained look on your lips. Applying is not the easiest because of this creamy consistency-this new line seems to be made to give the lips a tinted, stained look. The swatches above were 2 layers. I do like how you don’t have to be perfect with outlining your lip shape since this isn’t a liquid or lipstick formula. It’s best to apply like a chapstick all over the lips or to dab the product on. I found myself focusing only on the inner areas of the lips to create a gradient effect.

For me, it holds up quite nicely. It is super comfortable because it’s not liquid or creamy, it really just feels like you have nothing on your lips. Does anyone else hate how dry and uncomfortable some lipsticks can get? I wore mine for a good 5-6 hours and decided to reapply after eating and drinking.

For five bucks a pop, I think these are a bargain for people who want to add a quick tint to your lips. They are build able, easy-to-use, compact, and does exactly what they are made to do. Definitely worth a try!

A Lil’ Colourpop Haul | Pressed Shadows

Colourpop released individual pressed shadows recently and I purchased a few that looked amazing and were available. Each were $5 which is a great price for the quality of them. I also bought a super shock shadow and stocked up on my favorite brow pencil.

t o p  n o t c h | matte

A matte terracotta brown shade. I don’t think I have a shade like this in my collection and I absolutely love it! It’s smooth, easy to blend, and very little fall out. A quality eyeshadow for an awesome price indeed.

c o m e  and  g e t  it | metallic

A rose gold metallic shade. Another shade that I do not own but am so glad I got. It’s not super pigmented which I like so it is beautiful all over the lids or to use in the inner corner of the eyes to brighten.

n o t e  to  s e l f | matte

A matte warm caramel shade. Definitely can be used as a transition color, on it’s own, or to give some depth to the eyes. Such an easy one to work with-it does have the most fallout as the other two but definitely not a problem.

k a t h l e e n l i g h t s | super shock

My favorite shadow from the bunch. This is a VERY pigmented, buttery, glitter-intense golden copper shade. I would definitely be wearing this on the lids or the inner corners of my eyes to have them pop!

(apologies for the horrible swatch pic. Top notch got smeared and I didn’t realize until after I took the picture haha)

b a n g i n brunette | brown pencil

Still my favorite brow pencil-it is soft, pigmented,  and stays on brows all day long. They are only $5 each so I always buy 2 or 3 whenever I purchase from Colourpop. I like these brow pencils more than the coveted (and way more pricey) Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz.

I think this is my 4th post about Colourpop on my blog. Can you tell I love the brand? lol.

Colourpop Matte X Lippies: First Impression

heya friends!

I know I post about Colourpop products wayyy too much but it’s not my fault they have amazing and affordable makeup lol. Today, I will be doing a first impression on the new Colourpop Matte X Lippie Stix. They just launched this last week and I was able to get my greedy hands on a few shades.

I absolutely love the formula of these Matte X stix. They settle to a very comfortable matte finish that is easy to wear throughout the day. I’m not the biggest fan of their Ultra Matte Lipsticks because they are so drying on my lips but these feel so nice! They apply evenly and the colors are very pigmented. I heard that some of their brighter shades are a little patchy when applying but the ones that I purchased apply like butter.

I think they last a little longer than the regular Lippie Stix. I was able to wear Hollywood Blvd (my favorite!) for 4 hours until it started wearing off since I ate some food. It doesn’t bother me because I simply apply another layer.

All in all, these are by far favorite lip products that Colourpop has come out with! I think the biggest aspect that sold me was how comfortable and natural they feel on my lips. Not to mention, they are only $5 each and have a wide range of beautiful shades!

Have you guys picked up any of their Matte X Lippie Stix yet?

April 2016 Favorites

heya friends!

Ahhh, that time of the month again where we share our favorite items of the month. I can’t believe I’m actually doing well with these…granted it’s only the fourth month of the year but I shall prevail till December! lol. Anywho, I hope you enjoy this roundup of things that I absolutely cherished this month. Do comment if we share any favs ❤

  1. Colourpop Highlighter: Wisp

I have been using this non stop since I got it and I will be continuing to use it! I had this in my previous Colourpop haul and for $8, this stuff is the bomb. If you need an affordable, cruelty-free, and pigmented highlighter, definitely give this one a try.

2. Lemon and Sugar Scrub

I started using a lemon/sugar scrub to lighten up the acne scars that I have on my back and I can truly say that it works! It takes time, but I do see results. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and I can see a noticeable difference. I simply cut a lemon in half, dip it in some sugar, and exfoliate my back with this while in the shower.

3. Colourpop Brow Pencil: Bangin’ Brunette

Another item from my Colourpop haul that I have been using religiously since I got it. I compared it to the ABH Brow Wiz, but it is more creamy and less waxy than the Wiz. Some people like that, some people don’t. I happen to love it and how easy it is to apply. For only $5, SO worth it!

4. Dove Shampoo and Conditioner

I am never picky with hair shampoo and conditioner but this Dove combo has been amazing for my hair! I have used Pantene Pro V, Garnier, Herbal Essences, etc…and they all make my hair feel dry on the ends and super oily near my scalp…so weird but I didn’t really care haha. I decided to try Dove and these two make my hair feel divine and I do not get oily as fast.

5. Macadamia Hair Oil

Another hair product! That’s new for me…I’m not much of a hair person but this stuff is so nice. I use this as a heat protectant and I also like to use this on days when I just want some moisture in my hair ends. Smells heavenly and makes my hair feel healthy!

6. Target Workout Clothes

Oh goodness, I love Target. But I’m absolutely obsessed with their workout line. Obviously it’s no Lululemon, but I literally only wear workout clothes from Target. They fit me nice and their tops are always comfortable and plain. Plus, they are affordable and the quality is great for the price.

7. Veggie Fried Rice

Random, but I’ve been eating this every. single. day. I LOVE IT. There is nothing like some hot, egg and veggie fried rice with a cold glass of water. It only takes 5 minutes to prepare and tastes delicious. Especially with some soy sauce or ketchup… mehehehe.

So this was my April roundup! Hope you enjoyed ❤

ColourPop Cosmetics Haul

heya friends!

One of my favorite affordable makeup brands is ColourPop Cosmetics and since I haven’t purchased some of their newer items yet, I decided to make a little order the other week. I was so excited when I received the package in less than a week! I think it’s because I live pretty close to their manufacturing headquarters. Hope you enjoy this roundup and find something you like (or something you’ve been liking)! ❤

| Highlighter in Wisp: $8|

Wooooo weeee now THIS is a highlighter. For eight bucks, this little thang is creamy, super pigmented, and makes you look like a glowy goddess lol. But seriously, so worth the price! I love the texture and it blends so nicely into the skin. This is a MUST.

| Blush in Between the Sheets: $8 |

Another affordable product, worth the price. It is a matte beige-pink, cream blush that applies smoothly and leaves you with a natural flushed look. Love it, especially if you are a beginner for makeup.

| Brow Pencil in Bangin’ Brunette: $5 |

Sorry for the terrible photo but I was in a rush when I was taking pictures..But, I can easily compare this to the Anastasia Brow Wiz. It might even be better because I find that it’s just a tad creamier than the Brow Wiz. The only con is that you can twist the product up, but you can’t twist it down so I guess it’s not retractable? So if you twist and put out too much product, you’re screwed when you have to put the lid back on. Maybe it’s just a defect for mine but that’s the only negative thing I can think of. Other than that, my FAV brow product at the moment.

| Lippie Stix in Brink: $5 |

Lawwwd I have an obsession with their Lippie Stix, my collection just keeps growing. They are just so comfortable to wear and I like how they smell! I’ve been wanting this shade for awhile; a warm taupe color that complements my skin tone!

| Ultra Satin Lip in Frick N’ Frack: $6 |

I like these better than the Matte Lips because they are more hydrating. They last for a few hours and are comfy on the lips. This one is such a beautiful color; according to the website it is a “rosy terracotta” color. (I’m horrible with describing shades.)

I will probably visiting ColourPop again and purchasing more because I really can’t stop using their products. It’s a brand that has really grown and is becoming one of the best, affordable, cruelty-free makeup line. I’m obsessed.

Hope you enjoyed this haul as much as I did!

Favorite Lip Products

heya friends!

I wasn’t big on using lip products until around a year ago. I was never really into lipsticks, lip glosses, liners, etc…simply because I never ventured into that side of makeup. Kind of like how I am right now with face highlighters. Everyone is going crazy about highlighters but I still haven’t stepped foot into that area yet. Anywho, today I have compiled a selection of photographs of my favorite lip products. I wear these very often when I do wear something on my lips. I’m still exploring the world of lip color, I really want to try different colors but I don’t think they’ll suit me…Hope you enjoy, nevertheless xx
