I’ve been going out of my comfort zone by traveling more. I get horrible motion sickness and I get really anxious when going to places I’m not familiar with. This month, I planned and committed to trips and I am proud of myself!

*4th Street Market|Santa Ana*

This past weekend I visited 4th Street Market in Santa Ana which is an extension of food-truck style restaurants with food ranging from Thai noodles to popsicle bars to craft beer. It’s basically like a smaller, plainer version of the Anaheim Packing District. It’s smack dab in the Eastern Santa Ana area on 4th street. I got to take quite a bit of pictures of the food and what it looks like inside. We went on a Sunday so it was mildly busy but definitely not too crowded :3

The food was so delicious; portion size was great compared to prices. There are many places to sit as well; even though it was busy, finding a table was fast and easy. Most of the seating is indoors but there is also an outdoor area. The noodle soup from Noodle Tramp is notorious for their coconut spicy soups so of course we had to try that. Since it had chicken, I went for the tuna poke bowl from Mar which was sooooo tasty; I inhaled it…haha.

It also had a cookie sandwich joint which I had to be physically pulled away from 😦 We decided to get coffee from Portola; I’ve been to Portola many times in the Soco shopping area and the coffee there never fails to amaze me. I went for a classic Americano and Sean got a specialty brewed coffee.

I love the ambience of this place; will definitely be visiting again sometime soon to try some of the other goodies :3 If you are ever in the area, make sure to visit this sweet little spot. There is something for everyone~

till next time,

*Valentine’s Day 2015*

Today, I wanted to share what I did with Sean on Valentine’s Day. It honestly just felt like a normal Saturday for us but I did catch snippets of it on my camera and I wanted to share :3

Overall, it was a nice day! The only problem was all the traffic, especially going to and from Disneyland. NEVER go near Disneyland on Valentine’s Day because it honestly is not worth it in my opinion. We were in the car longer than in Downtown Disney, haha. I hope everyone else had a pleasant and stress-free Valentine’s Day and weekend whether you are single, mingling, committed, etc…It truly is just another day!

*Daily Foundation Routine* | Winter/Spring 2015

Today, I wanted to share my daily foundation routine. I wear long-lasting make up since I do work full time so I am usually in a busy office for 8 hours a day. The last thing I want is my make up to be wearing off, especially since I have a very oily t-zone. Do continue if you are curious!

1. Moisturizer/sunblock

-I never NOT use this underneath my make up. I am very conscious of how exposure to sun can really affect the skin. I have been using this product since college (around 5/6 years!) and it leaves a clean, non-greasy finish for my foundation. Sometimes I use a primer or a pore-eraser as well but when you only got 10-15 minutes to get ready in the morning, I really just rub this on my face!

2. Foundation: Estee Launder Double Wear

-This is one of THE BEST foundations I have ever used. I am not knowledgeable of high-end foundations; when I was purchasing this, it was between this and the Nars foundation so I had to do a lot of research beforehand. I use the color in “Sand” and it literally lasts for longer than 8 hours, brightens the skin, controls oil secretion, and sticks to your face like permanent marker haha. It is also a high coverage foundations so you don’t really need too much concealing after if you have pretty clear skin.

3. Under-eye brightener: Maybelline’s Instant Age Rewind Eraser

-This product is very popular among a lot of makeup gurus and there is a reason why…it is magic. I use it under my eye and drag it along my cheekbones as well and it instantly brightens and smooths my complexion. The product itself lasts for a long time; I’ve had one bottle for almost a year and the picture above is a new one that I can’t wait to open haha.

4. Concealer: NARS Creamy Concealer

-For acne spots and pigmentation, I use this concealer in the shade “Ginger” to help problem areas around my forehead and cheeks. This is also a popular product because it blends like a dream and lasts for a very long time. I love the consistency and how easy it is to apply to the face. I even wear this on days when I don’t want to put foundation on my face; just this and some powder and I’m good to go!

5. Powder: Covergirl’s Ready Set Gorgeous

-This is honestly not my favorite face powder; I really love the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder but I ran out of it recently and I had this one on hand. I have been using this for a month or so but although it does control oil and shine for a few hours, I personally just need something that can last me a little longer. When I use this, I have to blot and powder around 3 times within an 8 hour period. Some people don’t mind this but I just remember only retouching once whenever I used the Rimmel powder. But just like the Rimmel one, it applies evenly with a nice powder brush and instantly mattifies the face. I just prefer the Rimmel one for it’s long-lasting power 🙂

So that’s it! This is my foundation routine every morning before work. It honestly only takes me 5 minutes since I have been doing it for so long now. I love it but I am looking for an alternative foundation at the moment. I want to try new products but I am very afraid from deviating from my Estee Lauder one…Does anyone know of any cheaper/drug-store foundations that work similarly to this one? Suggestions are much appreciated!

till next time,

* winter favorites *

Just wanted to show ya’ll my winter favorites this year! Feel free to like and/or comment if you’ve tried any of these, or want to, or don’t want to….opinions are accepted here haha.

~The “winter candy apple ultra shea body cream” is definitely my favorite scent from the Bath and Body Works winter collection. It is a sweet and simple fragrance that lingers on your body for a long time. It also does a good job locking in moisture. It is priced for $12.50 I believe but they are having sales and promotions that can probably get you this for a lot cheaper 🙂

~St. Ives Naturally Soothing body lotion has also been an alternative lotion for when I want to smell less like a candy apple. It has a light, buttery scent and seems to be good for sensitive skin. The oatmeal and shea helps with skin dryness, especially during  the winter. This was only around $8 at Walmart (or CVS, Target, etc…)

~This beauty, right here, has to be my number one product! It is the Stress Relief Eucalyptus Spearmint Body Scrub from Bath and Body Works aromatherapy line. I never believed in sugar scrubs, especially doused in oil. My mentality is that it will just leave my body more oily. But this thing is absolutely amazing. I scoop a handful after a stressful day at work and scrub this all over my body until the sugar dissolves. The smell is just divine and it really does help soothe and de-stress your mind. After you rinse yourself off, your skin is left feeling like a baby’s bottom and smelling amazing. I try not to use this too much but I really can’t help it if I use it more than three times a week! This was $16 and a good price I may say so myself for the quality and amount you get!

~This face mask is made from natural ingredients which is why I gravitated towards it. It is supposed to help with acne prone skin and I use it when I feel like I’m going to break out. It has a interesting scent but it is nothing that is bothersome. There is also some color discoloration due to its natural ingredients. This was around $25 for a small container at Walmart/Target. I’ve always loved the “yes to…” products, especially there make up wipes.

~Now this is not a beauty product but it is a most delicious product for sure. I got this little thing from Trader Joe’s and I can actually eat is since it does not contain any dairy! If you love chocolate and orange, you shall enjoy this!! It is artificial so for fellas out there who have had authentic chocolate covered orange peel, this won’t be as good but it still pretty amazing. Especially, if you want a small dessert :3 yum yum.

~These Baby Lips Dr. Rescue line from Maybelline are not only slightly pigmented but they are also ultra moisturizing. Not sure of the price for this one since it was a gift, but they sell them at any drugstore and I don’t think they are pricey.

~Of course, I had to put in the Bath and Body Works Candy Apple matching 3-wick candle as well! I burn this nonstop during the weekends!

~Last but not least, is a clothing item. This is a thick infinity scarf from Foreign Exchange. It was $16 and buy one get one free so it basically was $8! This is a very soft, thick scarf and it’s perfect since you don’t need to wrap it around your neck very much. Just loop your head in it and there ya go! I love this dark red, burgundy shade; it’s a nice color change from my monochromatic blacks, grey, and whites. I even wear it around home when it gets chilly as well!

Alright! So that is basically it and wow, this was a pretty long post! These were a few favorites that I have been enjoying this winter so far. I will probably continue to enjoy them after winter as well! Hope you guys find this somewhat useful!
